Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Secondary Phase
Caludon Castle School

I have worked in Coventry for 12 years and before that in Swindon. Currently I am an Assistant Headteacher at Caludon Castle school, leading on Inclusion and Behaviour for Success. In 2011 we were judged to be an outstanding school in every area.  I have completed the SENCO qualification, NASCO, which has given me a good understanding of children with SEND and how we can provide a quality, successful learning experiences to all vulnerable learners within a mainstream setting. I am passionate about the learning of all children and that education should be a positive inclusive experience.

I have been part of many SEND training days and National Conferences, I relish the opportunity to support colleagues in all phases of their careers, it is a valuable learning experience which influences my own practice.

I am also part of the Year 7 team, we pride ourselves in providing year 6 students with a quality transition enabling SEND and Non-SEND students to make the step into secondary education seamless.

I am delighted to have become a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) in Inclusion.
