SLE Jenny Tegerdine

Leadership Support including Teaching and Learning and Foundation Stage and Transition to Year 1
Primary Phase
Courthouse Green Primary School

In my role as Deputy Head Teacher at Courthouse Green Primary my responsibilities include developing leadership through targeted coaching and a range of CPD programmes in order that it improves learning outcomes throughout school. I have a specialism in Early Years practice but also develop teaching and learning across key stage 1 and 2. Using data, lesson observations, book looks and rigorous self-review I ensure that all we do has positive outcomes for our children.

In my role as an SLE I have delivered cpd programmes for teachers and leaders focusing on improving practice and provision in order to raise standards. My work in other schools has consisted of reviewing provision and supporting leaders to write effective action plans, demonstrating good practice for others and advising on further developments. I have a clear understanding of how young children learn and have communicated and implemented this across the phases.

As a licensed Thrive practitioner I am committed to early identification of social, emotional and mental health issues and creating provision to ensure children are successful in school. This involves planning to meet the needs of children at whole school, class and an individual level creating action plans that enable school and families to work together to best support the children.

I believe that by working alongside colleagues with a clear agenda and keeping the children at the heart of all that we do, it is possible to make lasting improvements with positive outcomes.
