Leadership of Curriculum
Courthouse Green Primary
I am working as an Assistant Head at Courthouse Green Primary with responsibility for Teaching and Learning across Years 2 and 3 and previously Year 1. I have, however, had teaching experience across Key Stages 1 and 2. As part of working in a school which has moved from special measures to good (June 2013), I have particularly focused my leadership on coaching teachers and leaders to improve the quality of teaching and learning and curriculum provision in order to raise standards. Using data and rigorous self-review I have ensured that all we have done has had positive outcomes for our children.
I have recent experience in supporting and coaching staff who are new to leadership roles in school, specifically developing their confidence and skills to lead and manage change within their year group. This work has consisted of reviewing provision and supporting leaders to write effective action plans, demonstrating good practice for others and advising on developing the curriculum within their own year group. I have a clear understanding of how young children learn and have communicated and implemented this across the phases.
In addition to my school responsibilities, I am also an accredited Lead Assessor and moderator for the Local Authority for KS1 assessment, supporting colleagues beyond Courthouse Green Primary School.
