Behaviour and Safeguarding
Secondary Phase
WMG Academy

I am an Assistant Principal at WMG Academy for Young Engineers. I lead on Behaviour and Safeguarding across the Academy and I line mange the Engineering faculty. Our cohort is predominantly boys and I have much experience in implementing effective Behaviour for Learning strategies at a whole school level. I teach science and A Level Biology. Previously, I have been an AST responsible for Teaching and Learning and I have been a Head of Science at Southam College, an outstanding school, for nine years.

I have delivered training to all staff, in my current school and in others and on a wide variety of areas, most recently, Behaviour for Learning and Safeguarding. I have worked with colleagues as a coach and as a mentor where necessary. I particularly specialise in helping struggling teachers to reach ‘Good’, with a real focus on effective classroom practice.

I have worked as a professional mentor for students and newly qualified teachers. I have a thorough knowledge of the core standards and the development of newly qualified teachers. I have delivered training to Warwickshire NQTs and I have worked closely with Warwick University.

I am responsive to the needs of staff, easy to communicate with and I am passionate about coaching as a tool for developing the practice of others.
